Teacher Training Course on Speech and Drama 2016-17

Aims of course

1. Enable teachers to

—     plan and implement a Speech and Drama curriculum for a group of students

—     execute teaching work effectively at a professional level in the field speech and drama

—     use a wide range of teaching materials

—     demonstrate command of subject knowledge

2. Provide teachers the foundation on pursing professional qualification in this field.

Course Details

Prerequisite

Age 18 or above. Have a good command of English.

Lessons

A total of 24 lessons: 16 lessons on principles of teaching drama, 4 lessons on case studies, and 4 lessons on lesson observations. The 16 lessons on principles of teaching drama will be on the following Thursday, from Oct, 2016 to April, 2017.

Other learning activities will be arranged on other days from Oct, 2016 to July, 2017, including

(i)     principles and skills of the teaching of drama

(ii)    curriculum design of drama education

(iii)   applying drama to the teaching of subjects of various kinds

(iv)   appreciation of plays of various kinds

(v)    drama production

Tutors

Experienced drama educators with the qualification of FTCL.       

Tuition Fee

$19,800 (The fee includes tuition and course materials)

* 10% early bird discount is offered for applying on or before Aug 31, 2016

* 25% discount is offered for full time students
